Sorry for the delay! :) Thursday October 4th

The True Love Story

Thursday  October 4th, 2012

We haven’t even gotten to Africa yet, and God has already opened my heart to loving this beautifully constructed, amazing team. I love how He knew exactly what He was doing when He put us all together in this very moment.
The morning began with us meeting at the Delta counter in Indy. We all checked ourselves in, checked our personal bags along with the bags full of sponsor gifts. I ended up sitting next to Susan and Stacy on the first flight to Atlanta. The flight was short, and we got to Hotlanta and had a 5 hour layover till our big flight to Johannesburg. All the ladies decided to go to Fridays to eat. Sandy asked us all to answer the simple question of how we had come to know Jesus and to tell our story about how we got to where we were. It was so amazing to hear the struggles we all had gone through in life. What strong women we have on our team.
Stacy and I, then went to Starbucks to get our last coffee, which led to meeting a lady going to Dublin. We played euchre, laughed, and tried to teach Tomecio how to play.
The infamous answering your own question after you ask started with me saying, “Do you have a favorite suit? I do!” I also taught everybody the meaning of “bye”—seeing a lady wearing her red and white polka dotted neck pillow around her neck while walking through the airport in a business suit.
I am sitting in the middle of Tim and Stacy. I just finished watching “People like Us”. I ate “Sand” couscous which Stacy and I laughed hard about for a good twenty minutes. I had tears falling down my cheeks I was laughing so hard. “I have sand in my mouth and my lips are on fire!” The meal came with an Enjoy sign, which also made us laugh.

God, you never cease to amaze me. Thank you for your perfect plan you have mapped out for my life. I am forever grateful. I am so excited for this journey you have brought this team on. I hope you can use all of us to be your hands and feet. I am going to try and sleep now. We have 12 more hours till arrival.
